Singapore, as the most developed economy in Asean, is in a league of its own in Asean healthcare spending at over US$2,500 per capita in 2013 according to World Bank data. More unusually, countries which have introduced universal healthcare such as Thailand, have managed to keep the amount down to US$264 per capita.
