Lassa fever | Signs and symptoms – Causes and Prevention

Lassa fever is an acute viral hemorrhagic fever caused by the Lassa virus found in the tropics especially in West Africa first described in 1969 in the town of Lassa, in Borno State, Nigeria. The fever is caused by a single-stranded RNA virus that is animal borne.
